The package ntp synchronizes system time using the Network Time Protocol (NTP).

This update updates the ntp package to the new version stable-4.2.0a-20050816, and fixes several bugs including the following:

• Preventing segmentation faults when loopback interface is not configured
• The following fixes in the initialization script:
  • Replacing -U with -u in getopts
  • Not passing group to ntpdate -U argument and ignoring -i in options
  • Setting ntpconf for -c
  • Removing -p 8 from ntpdate arguments
  • Not calling ntpdate when step-tickers don't contain anything useful and -x isn't in options
• Fixing the default keyfile for ntpdate
• Updating man pages
